Engineering Analysis was asked by Shell to perform some pipe stress calculations. These calculations are carried out using the ‘Caesar II’ software program.
This software is used to analyse all the operating and design conditions of the pipes. Engineering Analysis has several specialists who can carry out the task. The main results of the pipe stress calculations were the tensions in the pipes, the level of deflection, and the nozzle and supporting loads. The assessment was carried out in accordance with the B31.3 standard and reported on and the pipework was subsequently installed.
