For Paccar, a global leading constructor of DAF trucks, VIRO supported work to develop a number of mechanical adaptations from concept up to the engineering phase. These modifications were the result of an idea by DAF to spread the load on a tandem rear axle more evenly between the two axles and an initiative to re-engineer a vertical series engine into a horizontally positioned one.
We conducted the layout study and prepared and calculated the concepts, as well as producing the detailed drawings and releasing them on the PDM system. One particularly notable aspect of this project was the close co-operation between our computing department and the construction team.
