VDL Bus & Coach won the prestigious International Coach of the Year 2012 award for its Futura coach. The Futura, introduced in 2010, was deemed the best in its field during the Coach Euro Test 2011 in Norway. This double-decker coach lays the foundation for a new generation of comfortable, energy-efficient, and aerodynamic Futura models. Its undisputed strengths include the high load capacity, the powerful engine, and the safe undercarriage. All of this comes in a unique low-weight body.
Given that we worked on the new Futura coach with VDL Bus & Coach, we are extremely proud of this achievement. With seventeen engineers, we worked on the functional design of the chassis, the wheelchair lifting system, and the incorporation of the new logo and lighting.
