The VIRO Criterium Cup Twente 2022 reached its climax on the 25th of August with the final: The Tour of Borne.
Under tropical conditions, the races in Borne became real elimination races, with Marit Cent from Goor and Björn Bakker from Wijnjewoude in Friesland taking the day's victories. For Bakker it was the third victory. He had already won in Hengelo and Oldenzaal.
Michelle de Graaf (women), Jelmer Ligtenberg (elite/below men) and Tim Nederlof (amateur men) became the overall winners, in the final race the three riders successfully defended their leading positions in the classification.
