On behalf of Hycom, we engineered two hydraulic test units for Europe’s largest aircraft manufacturer. These are now being used to test the flap and slat systems of a new airliner.
The flaps and slats are usually found in an aircraft’s wings, but using these units they can be mounted separately in test frames 30 metres long and six metres tall to undergo a variety of simulations – from freezing to cracking and extreme loading. The minimal fault tolerances in the aviation sector impose high standards upon the specifications and manufacture of these systems.
